Call for Abstracts (closed)

What to submit

For HaPoC-7, we welcome contributions from researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds who intend to participate in the debates on the implications of computing and computing technologies for culture, science, and society. HaPoC participants contribute from their respective areas of expertise and are open to engage in interdisciplinary discussions across multiple fields. Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Historical aspects of computing
  • Philosophical aspects of computing
  • Ethical and legal aspect of computing
  • Social and cultural aspects of computing
  • Computing and the arts

How to submit

We cordially invite researchers working in a field relevant to the main topics of the conference to submit two items for review:

  1. a short abstract of 180-200 words and
  2. an extended abstract of at most 1.000 words (references included)

Submssions shall be made through EasyChair. Please do not email submissions.
The short abstract should be entered as plain text in the "Abstract" field. The extended abstract should be uploaded under "Supplementary files", preferably as a pdf file.

To submit, please go through the following steps:

  1. navigate to EasyChair using this link or through the "Submit abstract" button in the sidebar menu
  2. log into your existing EasyChair account or create an account
  3. follow EasyChair instructions and click "Submit"

All content must be prepared in English.
Submissions without an extended abstract will not be considered.

When to submit

Please submit your material no later than 21 May, 2023.
All submissions will be reviewed by programme committee members.
You will receive notification of acceptance/rejection by 30 June, 2023.
Accepted papers will be presented at the conference (18 through 20 October) in 30-minute slots, including discussion.
